Growing up, our house was always crowded. At one point, my grandparents rented a place where five other branches of our family lived together under the same roof: aunts, uncles, cousins, people everywhere. After that, it was moving from one apartment to the next. My parents worked so hard, but having a house of our own just didn't feel realistic for us.

Then, in the early 2000s, my parents met an agent who really took the time with them.

She didn't come in with a pitch or treat them like a commission. She just sat down at the table, listened to our story, and treated my parents with real respect. She told them about a first-time buyer program nobody had ever mentioned to them before, something made for families in our exact financial spot that required almost nothing down. On paper, my parents were considered low-income. But she didn't overlook them. She walked them through every single step until they were holding the keys to our first home.

That house was my entire childhood.

It was playing backyard basketball with my cousins until it was too dark to see the hoop. It was playing fetch with my first dog, Buttercup. It was movie nights on the living room floor with my sisters, Reggie and Jen, and squeezing way too many chairs around the table for Thanksgiving dinner. Having a place where we didn't have to worry about the landlord, or about when we'd have to pack up next, gave us a kind of peace we had never felt before.

If you know Joe and me, you already know Joe brings all the big energy in the room. I've always been more on the quiet, observant side. But behind the scenes as Director of Operations, this work is deeply personal to me.

I treat every single client as if my parents were sitting across from me at the table. I know how intimidating real estate paperwork and legal deadlines can be, especially if you've never done this before. I track every single date, double-check every document, and make sure you always understand what's happening next, so you never have to sit there worrying in silence.

For me, closing day isn't just about finishing paperwork. It's about that first birthday party in the living room, that first holiday dinner, and that quiet feeling when you lock the front door at night and know you're safe.

Together, Joe and I lead The O Team. We believe everyone deserves a safe place to belong and a legacy that lasts, and we've helped over 200 families find home on Oʻahu. Knowing that I get to protect families the same way that agent protected mine is the reason I do this every day.
